#21 - The Cake Tasting

(Clockwise from top left - red velvet, Oreo, vanilla, butter pecan)
The craaaziest thing happened this past week, y'all.
Kellie and I went to our first cake tasting at Delicious Bakery in Greensboro
and we AGREED on the same cake!
Why is this crazy, you ask?
Well, let me give you a little back story about this particular cake.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Kellie believes that red velvet and chocolate cakes are the exact same thing.
"It's just chocolate cake with red food coloring.
The only difference is the icing."
It really leaves me to wonder
what other shocking things she'll reveal to me when we get married, y'know?

"The AUDACITY." - Me.
You see, I LOVE red velvet.
But I'd rather eat celery sticks than a slice of chocolate cake.
There's a distinct difference in appearance,
texture,
taste,
and the amount of love people put into making the two.
Consequently, they are NOT the same to me.

She, on the other hand, likes chocolate cake (Oreo specifically).
Sooo, naturally, since red velvet and chocolate are "the same" to her,
I'm all like, "HERE, have some red velvet, Kelz."
And she's all like....

Kellie, refusing my offer.
---Enters confusion---
She thinks the two cakes are the same.
But, she likes chocolate
and dislikes red velvet?
Alas, I've had enough of the shenanigans.

My enough-of-the-shenanigans face
Please, my good people, take the poll below
and allow us to put this debate to rest once and for all.
Thanks in advance!

Is chocolate cake and red velvet cake the same thing?

Oh, and by the way,
on our visit to Delicious Bakery
we unanimously agreed that red velvet and butter pecan were by far the best flavors.
I don't know how. I don't know why.
But a no-fuss, unanimous decision during wedding planning is like finding a four-leaf clover,
so lest we visit another spot, these will be the tiers for our wedding cake!
CHEAH!
